So the Observing Mines Lab scientists, with students and members of the refugee communities, built a shoestring mobile lab, which they took around the city, the central bus station, to tents in the desert, and more recently to an NGO called Cuchinata, which cares for Eritrean women who've survived torture.
They conducted multiple studies on these people who'd been through horrific experiences.
So you've developed an intervention based on mindfulness and compassion.
Why did you suspect that this approach could possibly go anywhere near the extreme of stress and trauma that these people had been through?
