It's often a frustrating process to get the right balance in treatment.
As part of her research into the social aspects of schizophrenia, anthropologist Julia Brown spent some time with a group of people in the UK being treated with one of the common schizophrenia drugs, clozapine.
And would you say it also contributed to these patients' sort of sense of agency that they had some control back?
Gabriel, how do some of these findings of Julia's resonate with the stories and family conversations you've been hearing?

Gabriel Carey and Julia Brown believe that positive role models of people with schizophrenia could help with the understanding and social acceptance of the illness.
They're looking for people who have schizophrenia and are in recovery and prepared to tell their stories.
