So what is the connection between our emotions and our sense of smell?

Dawn Goldworm discovered that she had a finely tuned sense of smell many years ago and has designed fragrances for a number of leading perfumeries since.
But not only does Dawn have a well trained sense of smell, but she also has synesthesia, a condition that enables a person to understand one sense through another.
Dawn Goldworm believes that smell is a bridge on the way to emotion.
So in her olfactive branding company, she works with her clients to create their unique signature scent.
We heard a description of the scent Dawn's company designed for the Valentino brand earlier.
But another of their long term clients is Cadillac.
At one point, Cadillac decided they wanted to modernise their image through a new scent branding.
So what you're doing, you're really creating a context for people that really influence them and almost manipulate them in terms of the way they feel about the brand that you're working with.
How do you feel about that the power, I guess, that you've been able to develop through scent branding?
