What does stronger mean in that context?

Well, what about the, what would you, could you, I don't know if you've been following Paul Eastwick's work on stated versus real preferences.

I've been, you know, I've been reading a lot of his scientific work.

I haven't read his book yet, but I would love a rejoinder to his.

So he makes the claim that essentially I'll summarize it and then maybe you can tell me what you think about it.

But he makes the claim that, yes, in survey data, you see these consistent sex differences in what men and women want.

But when you measure it through speed dating or through how these stated preferences predict romantic evaluations of partners, well, then women care a lot more about looks than they say, and men care a little more about resources than they say, such that there's essentially no sex difference.

And I think I even saw an excerpt from his book where he says, well, how could...

how could these sex differences in preferences have evolved if they don't result in behavior, if they're just resulting in survey items?

Now, I don't necessarily buy that kind of... I buy his data.

I don't necessarily buy the follow-up part of the argument, but I'd love to hear what's your... With your billion years of sex differences background, what's your joinder?

Yeah, so it was basically he had people, and I'm summarizing someone else's work, so there's a chance I make an egregious error.
