Yeah, like you add to that the fact that in a lot of Irish Catholic families, the mode of coping was repression.
And that maybe if there was some sort of venting of these feelings, it could have been easier.
But you add national scale and repressive norms, nobody's ever getting better.
So you quietly take substances or take risks.
