And he is very thankful to Alpha.
And what he says to me is he says, you know, if I'd been in a normal school, I'm sure I would have mountain biked and smoked a lot of pot.
And instead, I spent my high school experience mountain biking and building a business and finding the thing that I'm interested in doing.
And now he has created a mountain biking apparel line
that's making like $50,000 in revenue per month.
And this is at 20 years old.
Pretty good situation to be in, right?
So because we teach to mastery, our students don't move ahead until they've mastered a subject.
One thing that's a little bit unique about us considering us as kind of an alternative school is that we actually do love assessments.
We do give tests because assessments in our world are a great feedback mechanism to just help a student understand, like, what do I know?
What don't I know?
And they move forward after they've gotten past 90 percent mastery is how they go forward.
As students get older and they move into our high school time, you know, from 14 to 18, basically, it's important that we have a transcript so that universities are able to look at that.
And so we're able to translate that into grades and things that they do.
But I want to just kind of highlight and I would imagine this is true in Australia, just like it is in the United States and probably globally.
Report cards and grades have become meaningless.
When we were growing up, I think there were a lot more Ds and Fs given out.
Nowadays, a lot of teachers are being told you can't give a D or an F, right?
You give an A or a B. In fact, one of our local schools in my town just made a new rule that instead of giving grades, they give two things.
One is either an M for mastered or
