And the oldest daughter was awake sitting in her bed.

She said, what was all that noise?

And I was like, oh, you know, there was just some people outside being really loud, but they all went home now.

She goes, but there was a lot of yelling.

Like, I'm scared.

Where's mom and dad?

And I said, they're going to be home so soon and give you all the huggies and the kissies, but you're safe.

But you need to go asleep so when they get home, they won't be mad at you.

And that worked all the time.

So we tucked her back into bed.

I ran downstairs to see if the parents had come home.

And they returned shortly after that, stunned at what had happened to their house.

As soon as I saw the mom, I just started bawling my eyes out.

And I was like, somebody broke in and attacked me, but everything's okay.

Everyone's okay.

When it all settled down, I gave the police a statement.

I called my mom to come pick me up.

Even though I had a car, I could not drive home.

And she ended up sleeping with me in bed that night.

And they didn't end up catching him.
