There's so like there's so many things you can do wrong.
And I also was one thing I was really, really careful was I was really careful with my equipment descending because like there were some really gnarly descents, like really, really rocky descents.
And I just was thinking like
If I'm a bit slower and I lose like 10 seconds here and there on all of these descents or like a minute on some of the longer ones, I can just make it up pushing a little bit more on the next climb.
And like actually, it's more important to like salvage my equipment and finish the race than like have a mechanical in the middle of nowhere and like be dealing with that.
So yeah, I was like more cautious to send.
Yeah.
than I would be in a gravel race, definitely.
Like one, just like fatigue, like your back, everything, you just it's so much more comfortable descending.
You're so much more confidence.
Like that fatigue over the over 26 hours, that must have made a huge difference.
Like anything bumpy, I'm just feeling so much better on.
So tiny bit of extra weight climbing, but like I had an extra like five kilos on my bike anyway.
So at that point, like an extra couple of hundred grams is like literally nothing.
thing and I'm also like
I race that bike, like I race my lounge with a suspension fork all the time.
So I'm so used to that tiny bit of extra weight.
And it I've always thought.
that like the benefits and the time I save on descent are worth any slight time loss climbing.
Um and for a suspension fork, it's also super, super light.
