But yeah, that was a hard like the thing is with these kind of races, there's so many decisions, and like you make one wrong decision.
Like, I could have chosen.
It's I mean, I would never have chosen to run like the race version of those tires, like the super thin ones.
But say if I had and then like either hit one of those huge rocks, there were so many rocks that you could have punctured on, or like cracked my rim if I'd have descended a bit faster on um some of those gnarly descents.
Like there's so many mistakes you can make that just like cost you a race.
So yeah, like I think
There's always an element of luck with these things.
I think I was quite lucky that a load of things kind of played out in my advantage.
And like also this ultra race, although not done an ultra before, like the all these decisions I made were from like
years of racing gravel and like bike doing bikepacking trips and stuff like that and like making mistakes.
So like I reconned a little bit in the dark and I didn't use a head torch.
Huge mistake.
My rear light wasn't properly charged.
I had to get picked up by a taxi because I didn't have a rear light.
Like I could have done that in the race and that would have been my race over.
And I made that mistake in a recon and then it was fine for the race.
So I think, yeah, you just
you have to like just keep doing things and trying different things out and learning from the experiences.
