That was the first one I ever read.

And I was ill as a child and someone gave it to me and I remember opening it at night when I couldn't sleep and just, you know, instantly you're into the story where Moomin wakes up in the middle of the night and everybody else is hibernating and...

It's just astonishing.

Yeah, it was just very, very strange.

I mean, you know, looking back now, it's astonishing that it was allowed to go on for so long.

That some random man was allowed to visit you, yeah.

But I was incredibly lucky.

And I had, you know, who knows what would have happened, but the nurse in the room, because I was under 24-hour watch at that point, and yeah, she refused to leave.

He asked her twice, but she didn't go.
