This approach that we're taking, being very proactive and identifying a holistic collaboration of government, both city and county, is a step in the right direction, and I hope the council members will improve this line item. podcast-host

yeah I had a meeting with our new city attorney and we talked about being very assertive in terms of nuisance properties very assertive and making sure that convenience stores are applying with all the ABC licensing podcast-host

and requirements, selling of beer and wine and those type of things. podcast-host

We know where the problems are, and we're being very assertive, not aggressive, but very assertive in ensuring that we protect the quality of life of those in the area. podcast-host

And so, yes, we are contacting landlords who podcast-host

who live somewhere else and rent property in our community. podcast-host

And I think they need to hear from our city attorney. podcast-host

And if it takes three years to get to where we need to go, the journey of 1,000 miles start with the first step. podcast-host

And so we're being very proactive and assertive. podcast-host

I keep using that word. podcast-host

We simply can't sit back and wait for something to happen. podcast-host

Same thing with cats and the bus shelters. podcast-host

City Manager and the County Director, we're going to be removing a bus shelter there and enhancing others, right? podcast-host

I mean, bus shelters where people should be catching the bus is not where people should be using the restroom or sleeping or making it inconvenient for other bus riders to use. podcast-host

And so I just want the community to know that things are happening. podcast-host

And I think at some point, Commissioner Leake and I will be talking directly to the community ourselves and sharing what we're doing and the results that we're getting. podcast-host

And we are getting positive results based on what you just suggested, identifying where the problems are and trying to fix them. podcast-host

And I'm making that one more comment. podcast-host

One of the things that I believe that we're doing correctly is making district issues, city priorities, right? podcast-host
