He's been called the architect of the company's $36 billion expansion of those experiences, including an upcoming theme park in Abu Dhabi.
In recent years, Experiences have supplanted the company's networks as its biggest moneymaker.
DeMauro will replace Bob Iger, who was Disney CEO from 2005 to 2020 and was brought back again in 2022.
In a statement, Iger says he's thrilled about DeMauro and says the company has to evolve.
