If you wanted to be passionate about cars when I was a kid, there was no tribe.
There was no Top Gear in the same way that we have it.

Grand Prix or, you know, getting to school on a Monday morning and go, did you watch that race?

It wasn't like that until my very, very late teens.
And I think it's left me the big...
bad taste it's left me with is I have a real problem with football no matter how I watch football where I watch football what I just associate it with just kind of the most vile kind of human characteristics it's very weird because my son absolutely loves football doesn't like motor racing and I used to find it very difficult actually early on even sort of taking him to football and watching football but I actually have an answer for this you know what it is this is mad it was Murray Walker

man would paint a picture of the last two weeks and in the last two weeks, the McLaren team of, you know, and he would do that and he would do that in 10 minutes and have you ready to watch.
And then, you know, he and James with that kind of fantastically maniacal and also considered commentary would transport me
to Monaco or to Monza or to Las Vegas.
I mean, basically, Murray Walker was my TARDIS.
He was my 747.
He was my everything into this amazing, amazing world.
