So I think that is what really creates a distinction between Friends and Seinfeld.
There's a lot more hugging in Friends and in Seinfeld because there isn't like that growth.
You know, these characters are just living in that reality, which I think is super relatable.
Also, standalone episodes, like Friends kind of follows that journey of their friendship over a couple of decades.
So I think Seinfeld's like you could just turn it on and you don't need any context prior to that.
But this is what I think in Seinfeld because you haven't even watched it.
I'm so defensive on this.
They are such unique characters, each of them.
Like the point of Seinfeld, like Jerry Seinfeld's meant to be this very like he's like the level guy, I guess, and he is a stand-up in the show.
And then each of the other characters are meant to be these exaggerated personalities and they're all meant to have annoying traits and like that's the reality of people and like little everyday annoyances is like what the show is based around.
It's interesting.
I tried to cast my mind back and have a couple of examples to see, like, you know, does it stand the test of time?
I mean, as of anything, it has to live in its time, right?
There are a couple of things that are always going to be on the nose.
You know, there was an episode where Jerry and George, like, really panicked because they are worried that people think they're gay and the whole thing in the undercurrent is, but there's nothing wrong with that.

that was progressive for its time because they were acknowledging it but the joke of itself is that they were desperate not to be perceived in that way so it's kind of meta in that way i think it's like acknowledging that it's not quite right and making a joke on that so i think that actually still stands up as okay well weirdly friends came after seinfeld and they had a lot of very homophobic jokes like the way they talk about ross's ex-wife finding her partner who is a woman i
