Loneliness is an epidemic in this country.

So my job is, how do we actually elevate that silent majority of people?

So I think the kids are not all right for a little bit.

Yeah, it's a great question.

So it's something that we actually ask a lot of our chapter leaders.

So when we started Bridge versus where we are now, we have students that are now, they graduated again post-COVID.

And so when they have these dialogues, one of the things that comes up in these bridging conversations is that for students that graduated after COVID, a lot of their school experience, a lot of their friendships was dictated by lockdowns.

A lot of their friendships and their lived experience was dictated by how they consume media.

Everyone was in their homes, in their silos.

And as you said, all they had to do was do TikTok, listen to Snapchat messages, and basically go to bed.

And that caused, I think, a certain sense of siloing.

The people like me that graduated before COVID, I only lost one year of college.

That was my senior year and second semester.

I got most of the human experience out of the way and I got it at a pivotal time.

And so I think that that developmentally affects, I think, the way in which people approach our politics.

The other thing I'll say on this is just that skepticism of institutions, I think, causes people to fundamentally lean towards populist left or populist right Democrats and Republicans.

And I think we have to create opportunities for people to be able to explore their suspicions.

Yeah.

Frankly, I remember when COVID just started, we thought it would be over by April.

I was at a college dorm room party, and I was frankly hanging out with BridgeUSA students at UC Berkeley, and we were like, this is going to be done.
