We are just really, I think that's what was fun about writing Being Mary Jane, because she said what she meant.

What's interesting is during COVID, when everybody got a chance to slow down and think, she reached out to me and said, I believe your voice—she's my editor—
I believe your voice would translate to the page beautifully.
And it's funny enough, I had a story that I wanted to tell for a long time, and I had it in script notes for a while.
