So there is a reason for it, but that can take finding out about your situation, then doing the research on whatever super or insurance or whatever you might have so that they actually have a full comprehensive picture of your situation.
And then doing a report can take up to 20 hours.
So it can't do it for $500.
So that's the reality.
And so for people who are thinking, that's all I need,
My suggestion is if you really aren't feeling, oh, okay, that's not my situation.
And I do understand it is expensive.
There's wonderful things that you can actually, or you can read, you can listen to podcasts like yourself, which can actually give you the basics.
And once you've actually, which for me is getting your cashflow right and getting your savings right.
And once you've started saving and you've started to build a little bit of a nest egg, then I think it's worthwhile to do that because it is worthwhile even if you didn't
go just to see fires.
I just want to get the very basics right and go once, get your cashflow, get your debt, get your super, get your insurance and all those little things right just once.
You could do that.
And then maybe in two years time, you come back to actually build a plan that's going to be an ongoing service relationship.
Absolutely.
And there's definitely financial advisors who will do that, you know, one-offs and just charge you an hourly rate.
Probably comes back to, that's still for me a very, from my research and my experience, that's probably a very small minority of people who are that self-motivated who can do that.
And funny enough, accountants and engineers are the two professions that seem to be, you know, we like doing the numbers, we really enjoy doing this, and we're actually self-motivated to do it ourselves.
The rest of us just seem to be, you know, life just gets in the way.
So yes, I will come back and see and advise the next year, but five years pass and that's the problem.
