Yeah, I'm really excited to be leading Zara now, focused on applying AI to transform how we discover and develop drugs.

I came to it through several chapters.

I started my career as a scientist.

As you mentioned, I obtained my PhD in neurophysiology at University College London.

then moved to the US for the first time.

I'm Canadian, so it was my first move to the US to do postdoctoral work in neuroscience and took my first job at UCSF in San Francisco.

And there, my focus was entirely on how the brain gets wired up during embryonic development.

Like you at the time, I was passionate about understanding how nerve cells connect with other nerve cells in the brain.

And we and others in the field were able to make a lot of progress in identifying

brain wiring molecules, molecules like netrons, for example, that we discovered.
