Happened to me this week.

Directly pertaining to the topic that we're going to be talking about.

Well, again, Aaron Porcelain kind of calmed things down a little bit.

There was a report that came out from Daria Tuboltseva stating that a source believed the deal was close between the Columbus Blue Jackets and one of two teams.

Aaron has come in and said there hasn't been any discussion dating back to the beginning of the month.

It's something that I heard.

It's something that's been echoed by a bunch of other folks in the know.

The only thing I can confirm is if the Columbus Blue Jackets do get to a point where they do decide to move Kirill Marchenko, the Montreal Canadiens will be all over it.

Well, does that mean that they necessarily have the pieces that Don Waddell wants?

That remains to be seen because I think the situation is a little different now than it was at the beginning of July when we didn't have...

the situation we have with RFAs right now.

And I'm, you know, the part of me is thinking Adam Fantilli, I don't think Don Waddell in the month of June was thinking Adam Fantilli was going to cost him north of 13 million, but that's the reality now.

I don't think any core players, and then define what a core player is, but I think when you also look at it from Columbus's point of view, first of all, we just talked about it.

I think it's a fair game to assume that once they do get him signed, Adam Fantilli is coming in at north of $13 million.

If we're in agreement on that, on the high end, they would have $1.5 million in cap space left after that signing.

Kirill Marchenko makes $3.85 million.

So even if you trade Marchenko, it's not like you can get back a, a, you know, a high salaried player because already your cap situation doesn't work.
