So in the medium term, Iran is going to see that its leverage by constraining the Strait of Hormuz is going to be undermined.
Yeah, there is huge investment in alternative routes to avoid the Strait of Hormuz because Iran for decades has used threat around the Strait of Hormuz to exert its own economic and diplomatic pressure.
And that, I think, the rest of the Gulf states have realized is not sustainable, that Iran is not sustainable.
a collaborator that you can rely on and therefore they are looking at alternatives.
That doesn't mean that in the short term this isn't going to cause a problem as we've seen with the cost of oil and gas coming through.
Claire, it's really going to depend on what happens over the next 24 to 48 hours.
As I said, the immediate increase, we're up about six, six and a half percent for the cost of crude oil and liquefied natural gas is being pressed up.
But we hadn't returned to normality of transit.
So the impact is less.
and there are alternative supplies and provisions that are being found.
So the global supply chain has responded to the pressure that Iran has exerted to find alternative routes.
But the longer-term impact, if we can get them both sides back around the table, if we can get to a reintroduction of a ceasefire, this could be
quite a short-term increase in those prices.
But we're still a long way off.
We're about $75, $78 a barrel currently, when at the peak, they were up to about $120 a barrel.
So we're still a long, long way from where the price increases were.
