So I would, today's a bit of a who's who in the city and

and then the fire service.

And we have a number of guests joining us today.

So I'd like to recognize them.

First, from the Charlotte City Council, we are honored to have Councilmember LaWanna Mayfield with us today.

Thank you also for your continued support

of the Fire Department and for being with us this morning.

Chief Gordon currently oversees all certification and training programs

with the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal.

Chief, thanks for being here.

Also, Kevin Koontz, the Chief Engineer of the Insurance Service Office, is joining us today.

His son, Robert, is among the graduates.

I saw former Chief of Training and retired Division Chief Lance Folk

earlier, along with retired Division Chief Dank Newman.

It's good to have you gentlemen with us today.

We depend pretty heavily on a great partnership with the local community college.

And I saw from Central Piedmont Community College Dean of Public Safety Luke Sale in the back of the room, and also the fire training coordinator, Lewis McSwain.

Terry Fox, who serves as chairperson of the North Carolina Fire and Rescue Commission Certification Board.
