So, yeah.
Yes, it was three weeks.
I mean, I know we'll get there, but three weeks after it aired on HBO, the crime was solved.
So it was... I mean, that is so nuts.
Yeah, a lot of it was just the confessions and how they had sort of used the confessions against them to say memory works in a certain way when it actually doesn't.
And I learned a lot, too, making it, like, you know, looking at the memory experts that Claire Huey had interviewed over the years and also, like, you know, what the defense attorneys, what they had to learn about how memory worked to defend their clients, the boys who work here.
Right.
So that was super interesting.
And also, you know, how memory works alongside grief.
I mean, one thing I didn't talk about when and very naive of me, I think when I when I decided I'd never done true crime before.
And when I know, no, this was not.
I kind of make films that are about the American South.
I didn't really realize what, like the grief aspect of it, like what, like when I met the families, how much this gets in your body, you know, and how I didn't, because I hadn't worked in true crime before.
I didn't know like what it was like to sit with family members who had gone through, I mean, really the most unimaginable thing that could happen to you.
Yeah, for sure.
And I think that...
Yeah, it was quite a lesson.
Like, I won't make, I won't do that again.
Think about like the emotional toll it can have on telling, you know, telling these kinds of stories.
Like, I don't know how other true crime directors do it.
