Our advertisers for Shelf Unbound are primarily self-published authors who are looking for an audience.
And so Shelf Unbound reaches 125,000 avid readers and is read primarily in the United States, but we also have subscribers in 75-plus countries.
You know, that was the hardest part.
I was naive enough to think that we were going to put together this great product, put it out on Twitter and go viral.
That, of course, didn't happen.
And really, it was kind of slow at first.
And then through, we did a little bit of advertising.

A lot of word of mouth.
In the first year we probably spent, um, I didn't, uh, probably $5,000.
I didn't spend a lot of money on advertising.
Okay.
Um, the primary thing that really got us on the map was, um, we, we got a little bit of media coverage.
Um, we were in, um, flavor wire and, um,
our top 10 list got on a USA Today website.
No, I pumped it out there.
I've sent it out to everybody I could think of.
And, you know, you throw a lot of spaghetti at the wall and you're going to get something.
So, you know, like just this week, we launched Podster Magazine, which is a magazine about podcasts and podcasters.
And we launched it on Wednesday.
