Hello, welcome.
It's basically all the behavior that we perform while we are sitting.
So it could be school activities like desk duties, watching TV, scrolling, social media, all kinds of sedentary behavior.
So like, I don't know, 70% of our daytime and the children's daytime.
Okay, so there are a lot of studies that physical activity is kind of beneficial for our mental health because it releases the hormone, dopamine, endorphin, and stuff like that.
But it's also like a lot of other pathways connecting being physically active or not being sedentary
with better moods.
So for example, if the children are more active, so they are spending more time together with their peers, doing some other activities that also like influences their self-esteem, they like social skills.
So it's not only like the biological way, but also more social skills.
Yeah.
Okay, so we've got like this proof that being inactive, being more sedentary can make you be more depressed.
And then when you're more depressed, you just feel like not going out or not having any more relationships with your peers.
And you just prefer to stay at home and be like withdraw with all your activities.
So that's kind of this vicious circle.
Okay, so I think that's worth mentioning that our data was not only related in children, but we were examining families, like couples, mainly child and their mothers, because the mothers were more involved in...
in children's life, and what we found, we were examining both sedentary behavior, physical activity, but also mood, and we found some cross-person relationships.
So, for example, children's sedentary behavior influenced mothers' depression symptoms, so the effects were like cross-personals.
Well, we didn't find it in this study, so I can't say it can affect.
But previously we had like a parallel studies among adult peoples.
And there it was like a fitball look between one person to another.
