And he's unapologetic about it.
And when you talk about mass deportation to them, you say, look, the first time that he did mass deportation, targeting, I'm sorry, he did family separation and targeted undocumented immigrants, not just at the border,
But in the interior of the country, remember how that felt.
He is now considering mass deportation that basically targets 11 million undocumented folks who live among 16 million Americans because they are either spouses or children.
What is that going to do to your family, to your local community?
And I can tell you that once we start painting that picture, they realize that it is really just not only broad, but then they also remember something else.
They remember that under Donald Trump, when he was speaking about Latinos and immigrants interchangeably, he was giving license not just to the government, but he was giving license to white nationalists to hurt us.
That is, they remember El Paso.
They remember the guy that got inspired by a tweet from then President Trump saying that there was an invasion in the southern border.
That guy got in the car, drove 10 hours to El Paso that is 80% Latino and killed 23 individuals that were Mexican, who were Mexican-American, who presented brown.
And when they remember that, it really does provide us an alternative, right?
But part of it, again, is because
We take for granted, Don, that we are talking about elections all the time.
I think you and I have not stopped talking about the election since 2015.
Like we are in it.
Right.
Most Americans and most Latinos are they are working two to three jobs.
They are trying to make ends meet.
And if no one's talking to them, all things being equal, they're like, well, at least I had that paycheck.
