We just concluded an amazing meeting at the European Parliament, hosted by Vitanis Androkaitis, with a um call to action to stop sepsis as the leading cause of preventable death and disability in Europe.
And by September we hope to establish a high level political platform on sepsis that will bring together from ten to twelve
Members of parliaments, ministers of health or or the heads of states from different countries that will lead mainstreaming of the sepsis agenda in the global health dialogue and architecture.

And we do hope that both Minister Anthony and uh Craig McKinley will honour us uh in being actively engaged in this platform.
The second strategic pillar is about health system readiness for sepsis and sequale.
And as minister Anthony mentioned, we need
evidence based clinical pathways, bundles and sepsis care cascades for integrated continuum of care.
And we can learn from Australia, Ireland, Sweden, UK, US and other countries that have already
put in place excellent guidance and pathways.
We need equipment and supplies for sepsis, starting from microbiology labs to rapid diagnostics, ventilators with oxygen, renal replacement therapies, antibiotics and intravenous fluids.
Medical education and training learned from France who has integrated sepsis in undergraduate curricula.
Or Uganda, for example, how they employ telemedicine for improving the sepsis management.
Postgraduate continuous medical education and digital training are all part of this second strategic pillar.
And sepsis care cascades and quality improvement is extremely important.
And we can again look into the experience of Australia and Spain.
Last year, the Global Sepsis Alliance joined the Acute Care Action Network established by WHO that will be integrating sepsis as one of the important aspects of the ACEN action.
And the Global Sepsis Alliance experts were part of the WHO sepsis guidelines tools and international consensus.
