This is a state that used to provide 40% of the total U.S.
The pipeline that we're talking about is located near Santa Ynez.
It was shut down in 2015.
after an oil spill that contaminated the coastline with more than 142,000 gallons of crude.
Now, that caused $3 million in damage for the state.
But a Texas-based company, Sable Offshore, bought that pipeline from ExxonMobil back in 2024.
But Governor Gavin Newsom saying no.
He says, quote, Trump knew his war with Iran would raise gas prices.
Now he wants to illegally resurrect a pipeline shut down by courts and facing criminal charges.
And it won't even cut prices.
I refuse to let Trump sacrifice Californians, our environment or our 51 billion dollar coastal economy.
According to federal law, funds can be used for migrant emergency care only, not for routine or elective medicine.
Now, under Governor Gavin Newsom, the state's universal health care program, Medi-Cal, was expanded to include the undocumented.
But the state says claims of any wrongdoing are flatly false and that California routinely reimburses the feds.
And like California, other states have also expanded health care programs to include illegal migrants.
But California recently had to pull it back and stop accepting new patients and even sometimes charge premiums.
The United Nations is reimposing sweeping sanctions on Iran after nuclear talks failed.
The new restrictions target Tehran's nuclear and ballistic missiles program.
