I did collect 60,000 signatures.

And with those signatures, I went up to Dutch parliament.

And I'd also written a resolution myself.

And that resolution got adopted.

That became the basis for the policy in which we saw the POS return scheme for small plastic bottles introduced in the Netherlands and also later on cans.

And more importantly, that reduced litter from bottles and cans by 80% within six months after its introduction.

So it was a huge success.

Why?

Yeah, that's a good question.

I found a way for myself not to become cynical.

By setting out, I saw how people want to do the right thing.

When you set out, you meet so many people that want to help.

And I think that is what gave me the strength to keep on doing this.

A winter from Nice to Rome last May.

On some of these days, the wind would be so strong and against me, and I'd totally exhausted once I'd reach a beach.

People would run up to you, see what was written on your sail, and I'd tell them what I was doing.

And they'd say, come over, come over to our house.

That feeling of positivity, of people wanting to help out.

Yeah, so I actually had a private audience with the Pope Leo XIV.
