This is an attempt to buy people's votes, but look, it's it's never going to work.
There's nothing the Democrats can really do because they'd have to wait for it to happen.
And then if if he won, well, it's kind of too late.
And if it worked, and if it didn't, then there's no case.
So it's it's just one of those bizarre things that Trump does.
I think it's just a an attention-grabbing gambit.
He wants
Attention away from anything uh to do with rising oil prices, the soaring price of diesel, which is very serious, and what's the mess in Iran?
You know, the I think that's a really interesting topic.
And one of the things that has been suggested, I've heard recently by people who know far, far more about this than I do, is that China may be trying to do to the US what Reagan did to the Russians back in in the eighties, which is to force them to spend so much on AI that it basically bleeds the rest of the economy dry and and leaves the country hollowed out.
And that is ha you know, is an element of this
There's a huge fear of the unknown, of course, and none of us know none of us know if AI would have the capability to wipe out the human race as it has been predicted.
But the point is that because we don't know and we don't know the dangers and we're being warned about them, there is a need for regulation.
And with every big innovation in America, regulation had to come and sometimes it came much later when a lot of damage was done, things like smoking.
You know, there were the thousands, hundreds of thousands, probably millions of people died of lung cancer before the the regulations were finally put on to smoking and advertising and all that kind of thing.
Um, I don't think with AI we would have the same timescale.
We wouldn't have years and decades, probably.
It seems like that this is happening so fast that we really do need to be putting up some kind of guardrails.
I think one of the problems is that this the Congress is so old.
Trump clearly hasn't got a clue what AI is.
