convicted in a sweetheart plea deal for a set of crimes that occurred with underaged girls with teens for a period of time in the early 2000s.
And the original sin was that Alex Acosta, who was the U.S.
attorney for the Southern District of Florida based in Miami, gave this guy a deal he never should have had.
And as a result of that deal, a lot of people didn't know all of the dirty, terrible things that Epstein had actually done because the plea deal made his crimes look far less severe than they really were.
And as a result, a lot of people who came into contact with Epstein afterward said,
We're not aware of the full suite of crimes that today we are.
And now to a degree, and I don't want to criticize Sarah, my former boss at the Bulwark.
