And I say the same thing to people now, supporters of Israel or people on the right or establishment Democrats who don't like the rise of the progressive left and the democratic socialists.
Ask why.
Try to understand why.
Try to have some sympathy for the Americans who are revved up by this.
And one way to understand it is that arc from 2016 to 2024.
And really, it has implications not just for where we are now, but potentially for who becomes a democratic nominee for president in 2028.
Three straight election cycles where if you're a socialist or a progressive or someone who doesn't like the establishment or someone who doesn't like American policy, foreign and domestic, because you don't think it's been progressive enough, imagine what you've gone through.
2016, Bernie Sanders runs against Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination.
And the Democratic Party, we know from what came out through WikiLeaks and just through what happened in public, they basically did everything they could to support Hillary Clinton and stop Bernie Sanders from being the nominee.
And my analysis of the race is Bernie Sanders would have been the nominee had Hillary Clinton not had the support of the establishment, including on the debate schedule, etc.,
that really made progressives say, this thing isn't on the up and up.
Same thing happens in 2020.
So there's two categories of things that the establishment did to Bernie Sanders in 2016 and 2020.
And you just laid them out.
One is the rules of the game as they exist that are rigged towards the establishment.
They didn't do anything illegal.
They didn't do anything new.
They just they just built into the system benefits for the establishment.
