They're infuriated at the idea of having press all over them for the course of the summer.
And I think they've already made that clear to any member of my trade who's been down there.
What are they going to do?
Are they going to stay at home?
Are they going to vote for a candidate in the form of Farage, who has never been in the constituency practically since the day he was elected?
And Farage is a charlatan of the highest order.
But, you know, charlatans have got re-elected before.
If he gets re-elected, even if it's by, you know, lousy numbers and all the rest of it, that is going to protect him somewhat against the Standards Commission investigation.
which will almost certainly find that the five million that he got from the crypto billionaire is toxic money.
And that is going to be difficult for him.
But if he is reelected, he will be able to say the people of Clacton knew all this.
He's going to go back to jury trial.
So he should.
I mean, there are huge issues in the UK court system.
Massive delays, massive queues, really badly run and underfunded, badly run because it's underfunded, I should say.
So there's no doubt about that.
But getting rid of those trials, one of the things that's happening in British courts, which is not happening here yet, although there's a danger that it might, is there's an increasing number of cases that are actually being dealt with in private.
And you actually, in some cases, don't even know you've been convicted.
So there are real issues here.
I never understood why Starmer pushed this particular one, or more accurately, David Lammy, when he was in that role.
