Dallison had gone.

Um, I think it was uh David Sanchez that was leading the uh design team of the S F seventeen.

but

Very well respected.

And uh his concept of how he'd incorporate the crash structure in within the side pod um for a big aerodynamic advantage was uh every car had copied it by the following year but it was to get around that slight preparation.

Yeah, exactly that.

And it was um it that was probably the best car aerodynamically that yeah.

Um it a very influential car, everybody copied it in subsequent seasons, but it didn't have the party mode qualifying facility that Mercedes had.

And if it which was worth about two tenths.

Um when you looked at its race pace relative to the Mercedes it was

it was less than two tenths away.

So if it had had that party mode in qualifying, it would have been the qu fastest car of the season.

Um so it it just lacked that ultimate in qualifying horsepower, but it was a very, very good car.

It was that like I say, even though

This had nothing to do with the River Beni.

The progress that the team were making technically, is Benotto in charge of that, Gualtieri in charge of that.

These were all they were on a good trajectory of improvement and understanding where the where the gains were gonna be and they were going at it.

This had nothing to do with um the management at all.

And so i it y y i it looks as if it's it's not as bad as it

actually was because technically it was actually very, very good and they were very creative and probably probably the most creative of all the teams that in that year in seventeen.
