I should say that I did once have a conversation with uh Ridley Scott about Alien and about what some people had interpreted Alien as being in terms of personal biography.
And Ridley expressed to me quite strongly that he really didn't like.
People doing that at all.
I'm not saying that he that his personal stuff doesn't lead into the films, but he was no, this is a science fiction film about an alien coming out of something, and that is what it is about.
And I don't like people trying to tie that to something else.
I know that Ridley himself quite often shies away from that stuff.
Incidentally, just because a filmmaker shies away from something doesn't mean it's not in there.
And I'm very glad that you found that in it.
I just think that this.
This is a field that has been too thoroughly ploughed to be interesting again.
And as I was saying yesterday when we had this conversation, my main problem was I just read Cormant McCarthy's The Road.
I know that's been out since 2006, but I read it because my son gave it to me as a Father's Day present.
And I have to say that in the wake of reading The Road, any post-apocalyptic vision seems.
diminished.

And as I said, the screenwriter of that is the screenwriter of Late Fame, which we were just talking about.
And bear in mind, this is the film that the studio tried to bury.
They wanted it to be a be written off as a tax loss rather than have it out in cinemas.
