Yeah, we have done this, and there is very, very little in the Dog Stars that we haven't seen before.
And I'm really starting to wonder whether we need to see any of it again.
Um, it is, forgive the pun, the road more taken.
It also feels like one of those films that Ridley Scott knocked off because he had a couple of months free and was at a bit of a loose end because the Bee Gees biopic had fallen.
And down.
And but you know what he's like?
It's like you know, you you go out to the shops, you come back, he's made another film.
And he is speeding up, isn't he?
Basically.
As he gets older, he's speeding up.
He is.
He's he's he's clearly he's he's you know he's on a roll creatively in terms of how much he's producing.
But this feels so incidental.
that I mean it it there's none of the world building that you expect from a great Ridley Scott film.
So there's none of that kind of you know oh he's you know he's created the world of Blade Runner or the world of gladiators.
None of that.
There's none of the memor memorable characters of films like you know Thelmer and Louise or or even House of Gucci which honestly some of the characters in House of Gucci I'd like to be able to forget but I can't.
Hey I'm a nominate um
There's none of the there's none of that kind of dys distinctive quirkiness that he brought to things like um G.I.
Jane or or Robin Hood, a subject to which we'll return later on, or even Napoleon, all the weird Napoleon stuff about Napoleon crawling under the table and being, you know, really weird and strange about sex.
