Um, I am now able to tell you that I did send them back an email saying, I really wish I'd known this about the embargo before, because I wouldn't have spent two hours of my life watching the film.
I would have done something more exciting like having root canal surgery.
So just briefly, since now we get a moment to do this, um, it is worth saying uh
A lot of the time when that sort of thing happens with an embargo, it is because they think that the press aren't going to like the film, as has proved to be the case.
It's got uh very, very poor reviews, and rightly so.
So it's a hugely annoying, alleged comedy written and directed by John Luke's and Scott Moore, who co-wrote The Hangover and co-wrote and directed Bad Mums, which I actually liked.
So you put those two together, what do you get?
Rather than a group of men going to get wasted in Las Vegas, you get a group of women going to get rested and, as it happens, wasted in an art market spa.
So it's it is basically moms behaving badly.
Isla Fisher, Leslie Man, Anna Farris, so Jane is a lawyer, she's a single mum, she's got no time to herself.
She dreams of being just wrapped up in a carpet and left alone to sleep.
Um, Sophie is a PA to an insufferable man who bullies her.
Is sharing childcare with her ex, who still clearly loves her.
They decide to go to a spa to have a dream weekend, and they don't invite their annoying Australian friend because they don't want her to come because she'll be an element of chaos.
And anyway, she's abroad.
But then she turns up, and there is this moment in it in which Isla Fisher turns up as the annoying Australian.
And then you realize with horror that that is the
Gag.
The gag is she is going to be the annoying, loud Australian for the rest of the movie, and you're going to have to laugh at her, you know, because that apparently is funny, and not just think this is absolutely insufferable.
Um, so that's the gag.
