It's the writing's fault.
On the plus side, I think Sandra Bullock has always been a top-notch comedian.
And I think, you know, she does that kind of trademark deadpan asides thing.
She does that really well.
I mean, the first time everyone really became aware of her ability for it was while you were sleeping, which incidentally was a Radio 1 movie of the month.
See it first and for free with Radio 1.
And she gets all the laughs that are in the film.
They're not really laughs.
They're more sort of chuckles.
But the material gives her so little to work with that you almost end up feeling like everything she's doing is just Sandra Bullock doing Sandra Bullock.
As for Nicole Kindling, she is absolutely in Nicole Kindling mode.
I mean, brittle...
You know, it's meant to be racy ditzyness and it just comes off as contrived rather than anarchic and lovable.
And it's a real shame because in the middle of this stodgy mess, there is a positive female driven narrative with punching above its weight star power.
I mean, I haven't even made Maisie Williams is in it.
I mean, that's how the cast is so big.
I didn't even mention that she's in it.
And it is a refreshingly upbeat story about female companionship and friendship.
And, you know, when we do that thing on Take Ultra in which we read the comments from below the line on YouTube.
And it's always like, oh, he's so woke.
