Well, I draw these posters every year on prelim weekend as the teams drop and uh but I've been considering them, you know, for the last week, months and Freo have been at the top of the ladder and it was a good chance that they were going to figure in on the Premiership poster.
So I've been practicing my warfish and building them up and
you know, observing Wharfy time and and this this culture around the club and so when it came to drawing drawing the the the Docker's poster, it sort of draw drew itself as this beautiful, big, powerful Warfy with the anchor
covered in the sort of anchor tattoos, uh the beanie, uh the the beard and uh I thought, Wow, I've nailed that.
Yeah.
And s and of course and I did the uh the the Lions and I've done the three peat poster there.
We send them off to the AFL and the clubs on Monday morning for the just the you know, the cursory approval.
And word came back.
Uh yeah, but nah.
Yeah.
They didn't like it.
They said it didn't fit with the club's um
sort of direction and how they see themselves and uh I I I must admit I uh I was like a a fullback with uh the wizard running around me.
I was gobsmacked.
Uh and uh so I had to redraw it for the first time.
Complete redraw.
In 2010 we had uh of course the Pies poster and uh that was my second year of doing it and I had the big magpie and again I like to include something from the club or something from the players, something that paints a picture of the year.
And so the magpie had the huge big Dane Swan sleeve, tattooed sleeve.
And the AFL did go, oh gee, I don't can we have tattoos on the official premium?
