think the the phrase accidental and deliberate um is is the wrong one to use um in sort of ninety nine percent of of the time because more often than not like a player is not deliberately trying to to handball the ball there will be you know the odd occasion but um on this one like I don't think Maguire is trying to um handball um that that sort of block.
I don't know if his arms
In natural position or not, it's quite difficult, isn't it, to understand where your arms should be.
If we're saying that um then being out um sort of of the of your body width is unnatural, then being inside your body width has to be natural.
Otherwise otherwise you're basic otherwise you can't put them anywhere.
Like the referee didn't give handball on the pitch for deliberate handball.
I'm sort of comfortable enough that the laws are then put in place.
Place for the rest to happen and it to be given as a goal.
And you know, people wanted a softer touch on on VAR.
And like I think maybe um last season or you know the season before, maybe that would have been pulled up for um uh deliberate handball.
And I think there would have been other people saying, Well, it's clearly not deliberate, where do you want him to put his arms, etcetera?
And we might get to the Kevin Schader one uh a bit later on.
I think that would have been given um as well um in in the Brentford V Links game 'cause it was a yeah, it was one of them it was a foul, but it wasn't um necessarily enough of a foul that the ARM was a good thing.
Yeah, I mean that's a that's a penalty for that's
For me on Charlotte really isn't it?
But I just think that you know that there is this kind of softer touch.
Like I I think the the law's an ass um anyway.
Um but if you remember, if you go back a couple of years during I think it was during COVID time, Sheffield United and Tottenham played a game where Lucas Mora was deemed to have um benefited from a handball situation which he he blocked with his back um and scored, and people say
said, Well that was clearly accidental, you know, you can't have that leading to a goal.
And so like I just think that whatever whatever the kind of outcome is, there will always be an argument a against it.
