There's a great photograph in the Indian AI Summit where Sam Altman from OpenAI won't shake the hand of Dario Amadai.
So there's kind of these also petty rivalries there as well.
But between them all, they're also investing in each other.
There's a strange thing going on where Google is competing with Anthropic, but it's investing in Anthropic as well.
NVIDIA is selling all the chips, the power of the AI revolution is investing in OpenAI, which is buying its chips with the money that it's just got from NVIDIA.
So there's a real sort of washing machine cycle going
among these top level of companies and what normally happens with an industrial revolution with the personal computer revolution is an upstart group of companies come out of nowhere and destroy the ibm and then you have the apple that's not happening this time around all the big tech companies are consolidating their power they're spending 700 billion dollars this year on ai infrastructure like data centers to give you a context that's about three times the amount of money the american government sent to send a human to the moon with the apollo program in the 60s
Well, everyone keeps saying, why does the American economy continue to be so strong despite all the things that are being thrown at it?
It's partly because data centres, they're building the infrastructure.
So funny thing happened a couple of years ago where we had some of the companies and for good reasons and responsibly saying, hey, there's big dangers here with jobs, for example, or the AI might learn to write its own code and then suddenly be out of control.
Person that did this most was Dario Amadai of Anthropic.
A funny thing happened.
When we talked, that company was worth about a billion dollars.
It's now about to get ready to go on the stock exchange for close to a trillion dollars.
So despite all the stuff that he was warning against, all the investors got so excited.
Because the more fearful it sounded, the more inevitable, the more magical, the more superpower this technology felt to the investors.
And they just kept pumping the money in.
And the valuations have risen.
So despite all the warnings, it's been really good.
The inevitability that there'll be a transformation that will automate everything.
