I don't know if you recall, but when people were talking about the stress on the Lincoln, he was really cavalier about it.

And and I I trust the president cares about our men and women in uniform.

And if he were getting the ripe readiness briefings, he would have even if he disagreed with how the crew was out acting on the Lincoln, he wouldn't have been so cavalier about it because that he's gonna have a legacy.

And these kind of issues will strain his legacy over time.

uh a failure to take care of readiness.

This is you know, the beauty of our country is we have a civilian led military.

There's never a doubt that civilians in charge.

Um, even when we're not happy with the performance of that civilian, he's in charge.

Um his kind of cheerleader approach to the Iran war makes it hard for him to caveat, you know, to explain the risk to be the the truth say at the table.

Usually a Secretary of Defense is not

quite as boisterous and and cheerleading.

And and look, there's value in a Secretary of Defense motivating the troops.

Um that's quickly surpassed by the importance of him being the the person that gives the president uh unf you know unfiltered, accurate risk man risk decision making.

In other words, the president only drops into this issue.

He's got
