And there were quite a lot of protests about it in Britain.
It was seen as an invasion of privacy.
It was seen as overreach.
by the government and he will abolish that because he thinks it is something that doesn't focus on people's everyday priorities.
Andy Burnham will focus on the things that he say matters in people's everyday lives like energy, water, power.
One of the big moves he might make might be to put a company called Thames Water which basically runs the water and sewer services in and around London and it's in severe financial difficulties
and it's also responsible for some of the effluent in London's rivers.
He will put that in a form of special administration.
That may be one of the first things that he does.
He will also make announcements around potentially funding caps on energy costs down the line.
Now, really, we won't get a lot of financial decisions until the first budget, which will be delivered sometime in the autumn, and that will be delivered by his Chancellor of the Exchequer.
And whoever that is, that is the biggest decision that he will make
today, if it's Shabana Mahmood or if it's Ed Miliband and if the speculation is currently wrong, that's the big one because that's going to be who he works with hand in glove over the next number of years and that will decide how much money he has depending on those policies and how much money he has to spend on the promises that he wants to make to the British people.
