So like this, you know, and I had the guys like some of the best people to look up to.
You know, Jack Brickhouse was the ultimate broadcaster when I was a kid doing the Cubs games and Bears games and everything.
And then I got Harry Carey and everything like that.
So, yeah, like it was I loved playing sports, but I knew this kid from Skokie was not going to go on to any sort of college scholarship or professional contract.
Yeah.
My first job, 1993 out of SIU.
was sports director of KILR radio in Estherville, Iowa, a town of 10,500 miles, almost exactly from Chicago, right in the tip between like 15 miles away from Minnesota, 90 miles away from South Dakota.
So we were right up there in the Northwest corner and like right away, like, um,
Softball and baseball in Iowa high school was a summer sport.
So I graduated in June and I'm doing play by play of this team going down to state from Estherville, Iowa, and I'm doing girls softball.
But like it was fantastic.
You know, that's why they say you get your first job.
You learn how to make money.
whether it's I had to do wrestling, you know, or what you said, judging, you know, these county fairs and everything like that.
I did.
Oh, I did.
Oh, bits on the air, Fish.
So like I did.
I also did like the five o'clock news.
