I think what he does for the young kids in the black community and understanding how important that is to be a leadership, he's embraced that.

He's had a great year.

Obviously, he was at the All-Star game, and that's how he participated in the home run derby.

But beating Kyle Schwarber,

In Philadelphia, when you're getting booed like crazy, just like we talked about with PCA and being able to handle that moment, when he did that, he changed himself too.

And I think the Cardinals understand.

They got a great one in J.J.

Weatherholt, a young player that they locked up.

And they also now have Jordan Walker.

And they can understand that this is a player that's taken a leap in his career after struggling for so long.

It was really encouraging.

I loved my son being able to see that element of...

of what he is because he has an attachment to him.

But he has done a lot for the community, a lot for St.

Louis, and a lot for the Cardinal fans to be able to be encouraged that not only is he a home run champion, but he's becoming that all-star caliber player that I think everyone assumed as he was chosen for the first pick for the Cardinals.
