This isn't a holiday inn, Brian.

We're not providing luxury housing.

What we're doing is we're providing a sanitary place for them to be detained.

Remember, we're detaining murderers.

We're detaining rapists, pedophiles, drug dealers, gun traffickers.

I mean, we have some real serious criminals there.

Plus, every one of them broke the law.

That's why they're there to begin with.

And we're providing them three meals a day.

We're meeting the calorie standard.

My payroll through DHS is just over $1.6 billion every two weeks.

So the money is going extremely fast.

And once that happens, there is no emergency funds after that.

And having the President of the United States speak so highly of me and then recognize my family and know my family by name, it's humbling.

And I never take it for granted, but I made this very clear that I don't care what color your state is.

I don't care if you're red or you're blue.

At the end of the day, my job is to be Secretary of Homeland and to protect everybody the same.

And we will do that.
