But I'll make the same comparison that I made with Hearts.

I think Hearts were trying to complicate things rather than see what was under their nose.

Derek McInnes was under their nose.

Barry was under Andrew Kavanagh's nose and he chose to go elsewhere.

There's no doubt he'll regret that.

decision or he did regret it he'd be in a happier place now with Danny Rule in and you know the team are certainly motoring they're putting a really strong executive behind the scenes you know Fraser Thornton doing really well Jim Gillespie now in he knows Scottish football he's a Rangers supporter they've got James Taylor in there as well he's a financial officer who's very very competent at his job and I think the one thing that's clear behind the scenes and Barry knows because he's been there he's still involved behind the scenes

is that there's a clear line of dialogue from Andrew Kavanagh even to the supporters and that's what the Celtic fans are wanting just now they're wanting meaningful dialogue the Celtic supporters seem to want the Green Brigade back in they want Brian Wilson the new interim chairman to go and engage to go and try and make that happen now I think unless I'm mistaken Celtic don't play at home until the end of the month a European game they don't have a domestic game at home for a while erm

I don't think it's an easy fix for the Green Brigade because there's so many misdemeanours against the Green Brigade over a period of years, Paul, not just in the past three or four months.

But how do you find a way to bring them back into the stadium to help create that atmosphere?

I was at Celtic Park on Saturday.

flat quite flat I mean there was there was a clear you know uptake in the atmosphere because of Martyn Hill coming back and everybody responded and they got the result but there's still there's a bit missing and it's okay just now but if you're still in the title hunt with eight nine games to go four or five at home and bearing in mind after the split if Celtic are still in the title race Rangers and Hearts come to Parkhead after the split

You want your stadium at its optimum at that point.

And right now, Celtic seem a long way from that.

Yeah, it is tough, Paul.

There's no doubt about that.

But Celtic and Rangers have healthy budgets.

You look at hearts, you know.

Braga, Norwegian second division.

I mean, it's quite incredible.

That's where, you know, Hearts have set a really high bar for themselves and for the rest of Scottish football.
