Modernization is not imitation.

That's why we said modernization versus westernization.

You do not have to look like the western world to be modern or to be, okay, let me go and flip it, okay, to be civilized.

You understand?

So being modern, being at the dawn of this new era,

of this new century.

We're going to journey through four rulers, not at one time, not at one time, four visions, four experiments, and what it means to be modern and African at the same time.

We're going to talk about today, we're going to talk about Manalek II.

How can society modernize its institutions and infrastructure without surrendering political, cultural, or spiritual sovereignty?

Because, believe it or not, really or not, the Ethiopian as a nation was heavily Ethiopian Orthodox.
