Most of the insiders and the people connected with the situation knew that Conor Hellbuck had privately asked for something, right?

Either a trade or to explore a trade.

And I think it's great that it stayed quiet.

It basically allowed the Winnipeg Jets to regain some of that leverage maybe to say, let's call a team, let's make it happen.

But I don't think the deal was there.

And I think they got pretty close with the Buffalo Sabres, for example, who had been rumored before the draft that, hey, the Sabres want Connor Hellebuck.

And if they do, you're looking at the Atlantic, you're looking at the Eastern Conference, maybe it elevates the Buffalo Sabres.

But from what I was gathering is that

The Sabres weren't maybe willing to go to the place that the Jets wanted the Sabres to go when it comes to players and prospects and all of that.

I think that it was rumored that the Sabres, you know, wanted the eighth overall pick for the fourth overall pick part of the trade.

And Kevin shoveled the office like, no, I'm not giving you the, you know, the eighth overall pick is basically the same thing as the fourth.

So I don't want to do that.

So there was that there.

But now that.

You know, Conor Hellbuck is putting in a little pressure, maybe trying to stir things up.

Now maybe you're going to see the talk happening.

And you know what is interesting, too?

The news that Thatcher Demko is potentially not going to be ready for start of camp, and we don't know what Thatcher Demko is going to be.

Maybe all of a sudden the Vancouver Canucks could play as a third-party option for some of the things that Kevin Sheveldayoff wants with the Winnipeg Jets.

That, to me, is interesting leading into training camp.
