So that was a tough situation.

There's a few people that talked about it, but I think even the people in Buffalo that I talked about, I was talking to a few media members and a few fans or whatnot, and they're all saying the same thing.

I get that you have to know what's happening around you.

But the Buffalo Sabres did not build their team to say, hey, you know what?

Like Montreal and Detroit and Ottawa and Florida and Tampa and Montreal.

No, they're looking to build their team so that they can take the next step as a team.

And whatever happens around them happens around them.

Like for me, that was a weird comment.

Yes, I get that.

You have to be aware of what's going on around you.

But at the same time, who cares if Buffalo was a train coming at you or Montreal?

Focus on your team.

Focus on your players.

Focus on your organization.

I think that was the biggest thing that when I talked to a few media members, it's like, yeah, it's nice that Toronto thinks that we're a train that came for them.

But at the same time, you know...

how you get back to be successful in the NHL is by not focusing on Montreal and Buffalo and Ottawa and Detroit and Boston and whatever.
