Wow.

And then because of the way we roll with our dogs, we just go, we don't use leads, we just walk around the farm, you know, for their exercise.

And pretty soon they were off.

They were off and away.

We put GPS trackers on them.

but there was no help.

You could just see how far away they were.

And we were really despairing, really despairing.

And then we reached out to all kinds of people and found a woman called Ingrid Grayling in Devon who we had one day with, and she gave us homework, six weeks of homework, four 20-minute sessions with each dog every day separately.

it was a nightmare.

And then I was doing Wuthering Heights, so I kept going away.

So poor Philippa had eight 20 minutes with these dogs who looked like they weren't paying attention.

Anyway, we got there.

We got there in the end.

But that's what the book is about.

But it's more involved than my telling of it there.

And they're amazing animals.

I think, yes, their presence has taught me what I think about the world, which isn't that it's ours to administer.

I think it's ours to share.

And that does involve some animals getting killed by other animals.
